How can I make my Canon Ixus 85IS camera use less memory?

I have a Canon IXUS 85 IS and I realized that uses a lot of memory, I know there is a camera 10 mega pixel that are used more, but I can not get to burn most of my all photos on a CD, where with my old camera I could! How can I make it use less memory without any degradation of image quality? I can not find the manual! thank you!

You will be much better off shooting at the highest size and quality and downsizing in your editing program. You can always make a file smaller but you can’t make them bigger. If you shoot at lower resolution your stuck with it. If you get that one shot you want to make a poster out of you wont be able to if you shoot at a smaller size.

Put simply you can’t. If you’re shooting at 10mp that’s what the camera will use. If you lower that in the camera’s menus then it will use less but your quality is downgraded as well.

Fact is, high quality means large files – that’s all there is.

    Sorry

Reducing the size of your images will reduce the quality. Just accept that fact, and get an external storage device to save your pictures on.

Here’s one brand. There are many.
