What is the better choice (not price wise): The Apple iPod Touch 2G 16GB or the Apple iPod Touch 3G 8GB model?

I wonder if (not price wise) of the 2nd generation Apple iPod Touch 16GB model is better or worse than the new 3rd generation 8GB iPod touch. Please help!

The Palm Pre, it KILLS the iPhone in so many aspects.
