What is so great about the new playstation 3?

I am in no way “dogging” in the new PlayStation 3. I’m just curious what technilogical improvements / advances were made for the PlayStation 2, this race is justified in seeking PS3. Is it fair that are made for HDTVs and Xbox 360? This curious mind just wants to know!

This country (the USA for anyone wondering which country I’m talking about) is full of technology whores who would rather go a year without food just so they could keep up with the newest fad. That’s the stupid thing about tech savvies; they pay full price for an item that becomes obsolete two seconds later just because they HAVE to have it RIGHT NOW.

I guess its the blue ray disc technology and the ability to hook up other devices to it. Personaly i think its stupid so much money for the sytem when in a year in a half its going to be half price on on its way out in terms of it being the latest and greatest.

There are some pretty major upgrades as far as the system’s capabilities. The reason the rush and demand, equating to the price if you have been looking at Ebay, is due to the lack of availability. Most of the reviews I have read have been less than flatterning to the device. But when you have a VERY limited number demand can get crazy.
